EMERGENCY SERVICES
A Stitch in time saves nine. Brain is Life,& Time is Brain, hence Time is Life. Every millisecond is important to us, as valuable Time lost is equivalent to Brain lost or Life lost. MIMS is one of the busiest Accident & Emergency care centers in our state, catering to approximately about 10000 acute Emergencies every year. It is well equipped with 36 beds, which includes Triage beds, observation areas, which manage all forms of Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, PolyTrauma , Paediatric, Neurological, etc. Emergencies. This is made possible by the presence of Trained & Competent Emergency Physicians, Nursing staff , & Paramedics, who work round the clock as a team ,dedicated in providing Emergency care. With an excellent back-up of other departments, like Trauma-Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Paediatric Surgery, Facio-Maxillary Surgery, Interventional Radiology, there are absolutely no short-comings in providing Emergency Medical treatment, the moment a victim is brought to the Emergency Department. All our dedicated ED staff are trained in BLS, ACLS & ATLS. All the emergency triage beds are equipped with monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, syringe pumps, intubation equipments, etc., to provide the best possible treatment in the Emergency vicinity. We have 24 hours diagnostic service departments including X-ray, USG, CT Scan, Interventional Radiology, Biochemistry, Cathlab etc., Regional Blood Bank is equipped with Ultra Modern Facilities for emergency transfusion and component therapy which is made available round the clock. We have fully functioning 13 operating rooms, and one operating room within the Emergency Department itself
CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE
The Critical Care Center is also known as Intensive Care Unit. The intensive care specialists at MIMS provide relief and care to patients suffering from life-threatening diseases, patients recuperating from high-risk surgeries or injuries. The mandate of the department insists on significant commitment on the part of specialists, which they follow with due diligence.
The department is equipped with high-end monitors, catheters, feeding tubes, breathing machines, intravenous tubes, beeps and alarms and all the best monitoring equipments of international standards. These equipments are sophisticated enough to nullify the risk of infection during treatment. The support teams at the critical care department are empathetic and friendly people who provide support and highest quality care to not just the patients, but their relatives as well.
They are clinically trained to provide emergency care during acute situations. They are in constant communication with the concerned doctors so the care will always be specialized and timely.
The critical care center at MIMS is quite spacious and exudes peace and calmness, which are very important for recuperating patients. Infection control and hygiene standards are very seriously undertaken at the hospital, so while visiting hours are flexible, visitors may have to wait in order to see their relatives recuperating inside the critical care, especially when interventions are being carried out. Since critical illnesses can be a stressful time for the patients, the ambience of the unit is set in such a way that they will feel cared for.
